Internship Program
The Internship Program at the Study Center
Student interns at the Study Center As an intern and a student, the intern is able to welcome people into the Study Center and the community in a unique way. Interns have a fuller knowledge of the building, meet regularly with staff members and as a team, and have opportunities for personal development and leadership growth. As a student, the intern offers the staff invaluable insight on how to best serve the NC State student body, all for the glory of God. The intern is specially equipped to be a Study Center co-host and ambassador as he or she welcomes fellow students into the building, introducing them to staff and our ministries here. Interns have the opportunity for a behind the scenes look at the Study Center ministry and partner with staff to serve the Lord in that work.
The internship is a paid position. Interns typically work 6-10 hours/week in fall and spring semesters.
Program Priorities
Through the internship program, we seek the growth of upperclassmen through our three foundational areas.
-
The primary role of the intern is to welcome in fellow students through hospitality. During day-to-day shifts, our interns open up the doors of the Study Center, make fresh coffee, engage new faces, and help us cultivate a community that offers the welcome of Jesus to students at NC State. Each intern takes part through:
One to three opening and/or closing shifts per week
Regular and seasonal hospitality events
-
We believe that the most transformational growth happens in deep relationships, and we cultivate those relationships with and among our interns through:
Regular 1-on-1 meetings with staff members
Weekly team lunches
Monthly growth-focused team dinners with staff
-
Interns will learn and gain experience through opportunities including
Running social media and communication platforms
Hosting hospitality and special events
Helping staff plan and lead Wolf Path Weekend, Emmaus Fellows, Rooted, and book studies
Shadowing and assisting with nonprofit admin, fundraising, and volunteer coordination
