Our Team

Tee Gatewood

EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR

Tee joined the team in February 2025 to help create a culture of prayer, a community of learning, and a place of gospel hospitality.

Tee comes to the Study Center after serving as the pastor of Arbor Dale Presbyterian Church in Banner Elk, North Carolina for 17 years. He has a B.A. in Psychology from Wake Forest, a Master’s in Christian Studies in New Testament from Regent College, Vancouver BC, and a Ph.D. in Theology from the University of St. Andrews in Scotland. He has written about the church and discipleship and has experience teaching in a wide variety of contexts, from seminaries to Sunday school. Trained as a theologian and shaped as a pastor, Tee brings a passion for friendships and a vision for community and formation to the Study Center.

He is married to Kathryn, and they have two children, Thomas, a senior at UNC-Chapel Hill, and Sarah, who will be a student at NC State (Elevate program) starting in January.  When he isn’t ‘studying,’ Tee loves to ride a bike, cook and eat good food, and read a good story. As the Executive Director and a new Pack parent, Tee is excited about getting to know the campus, building relationships with students, connecting with faculty and staff, and becoming a part of the State family. He is eager to help 201 Brooks Avenue become a place of gospel hospitality, formative relationships, and life-giving truth.
